| THE JOURNEY We are on Facebook, under noreenkevern@yahoo.com. We have posted a Picture album on there as well. Join us on Facebook. May 28th Praise the Lord for this day. We are thankful for all that the Lord has brought into our lives. We are living each day, fully in love with our Lord and Savior, knowing that in His mercy and grace He will bring about in our lives all the things that we need to do His will. We are ever so grateful to the Lord that He has given us this gift of The Journey, so that we can go forth and sow His Word. We went again to see THE CROSS, The Arthur Blessitt Story yesterday. And as we were thankful that there were at least a dozen people there, we realized that it was still a sad situation that the theater was not packed for this movie. Kermit was telling us that his church is now going door to door. But this is one small church. We have become complacent in God, and will never realize our potential in Him unless we decide to stand in Him. WE as Christians are at a crossroads in our lives. We either have to change our lives and stand with the Lord or continue to go along with what society, the devil wants. What makes people afraid of seeing another who has dedicated their lives to the Lord, who listen to His voice speaking and follows where He leads? May 27th Today is Henry's and my 31st wedding anniversary. We are going out to see the movie THE CROSS, The Arthur Blessitt Story. It is a movie about one man's passion to follow the will of the Lord. Henry and I began the Journey by watching this movie. We recommend this movie and would love to hear from you about the movie. It will make a difference in your life. May 24th Henry and I tomorrow are going to start getting things together to sell the house so that we can continue in the Journey. We believe that the Lord let us keep the house in case we didn't like the Journey, but we have to be faithful to God and where He has led us. The Journey so far has brought into our lives so many blessings and we have met so many people. We have shared our faith with people and have trusted in the Lord to provide for our needs. We are looking forward to returning to the Journey in mid July, with some short Journeys in the meantime. We are awaiting the birth of our 9th grandchild, a girl, sometime in late June or early July. I also have another ministry commitment for early July. We have another family graduation that we are going to attend up in Mesa this week. We are going to go about here in southern AZ and share what the Lord has brought us to. We are trusting in the Lord to provide us with a motor home or trailer for the Journey. We will still go out in the van until the time that God decides that He will bless us with one. We are still in need of your prayers and financial support, as the Lord has brought us to continue the Journey. We are so blessed and excited that God has called us to this Journey. I will be writing a book about the Journey. God has led me to share all the experiences that Henry and I have had. Each day has brought us to a person to share this ministry with. We are each called to share the Good News and to share and minister to others. We each have a gift to share and to show God's love. We pray that each of you will learn of your gift and share it. Today more than any other time in our lives, Henry and I feel the need to bring God's Word and truth to people. The times are trying to change God and His Word, but God is bigger than all the lies of the devil. May 22nd Preparing for a wedding of a young couple who have just graduated from high school. They have had a stressful week, they have a 7 week old baby and they had to take him to the hospital early this week and then they had graduation on Wednesday and on Saturday they are getting married. I always feel blessed by sharing with couples and their families with the celebrations of life. May 19th We have made it back to AZ safely. The shifter broke on the van so we only had neutral and drive for the Journey back. But the Lord brought us through the mountains and into the heat and blessed us with great gas mileage for this part of the Journey. We met so many people along the way. Even in laundromats. We had a wonderful conversation with Stan and during our conversation, our witness for Christ was heard by a young couple who decided to stay and listen. They had previously come and left. Our words and actions matter no matter where we are. Something that we say or do, will impact someone. We are here to plant for God, seeds of faith. God brings us to where He wants us and guides us. May 16th Kathryn has decided to join us for the Journey back to AZ. She had lived in AZ before and will be staying with us for a couple of weeks and then she is heading back home to await the birth of her niece and to prepare for starting college in the fall. Thanks Renee for sharing your daughter with us. May 14th We are in Kingston, OK. We are staying with some friends that God has blessed us with. We are happy to be able to share in the graduation of Kathryn and our son in law JD's sister. We didn't know that his sister was graduating and so we are able to get pictures for him. Lots of mosquitoes here! And they love me. May 11th How are all of you doing? We are in OK in Robbers Cave State Park. We arrived about 5:30 last night and we are in site #13. It is the highest level site and we decided that was important considering it was going to rain. That’s basically what we are in for this week it seems. It’s kind of nice as Henry and I don’t see much rain in AZ. The internet is iffy to say the least, it depends on the wind I guess. We are not seeing many people so we are using this time for listening. God is preparing us for the next step of our Journey. We are heading down to the Kingston, OK area later this week and then we are off for AZ as I have a wedding later this month. God wanted us to go out and see if we could handle living without a home or much stuff in our lives and so many different weather conditions. We didn’t know what to expect when we began this Journey. How would we handle being in 8 square feet together 24/7? Would not having showers, bathrooms, electricity, even a microwave drive us insane? The Lord gave us breathing room, we still have the house but He has showed us that we are more than capable of doing this and we really enjoy spending time with His other children. So when we arrive back in AZ we are going to put our home up for sale and finish selling or giving away whatever is left. We are trusting that He is going to provide for us a motor home for the rest of the Journey and we thank Him for that. May 10th Happy Mother’s Day! Greeting from OK. We have spent the last 3 nights and days in a place right outside of Seneca, MO. The Lord had us camp there and pray and fast for the next stage of our Journey. We have felt the Lord speaking to our hearts and we are ever more sure of our path in the Lord. We are on Route 60 right now, the rain is coming down and we are passing some beautiful green country and seeing lots of horses and cattle. It’s reservation land and much is left to nature. There are casinos along the way, I’ve seen much good things happen for the people through the casinos. Although Henry and I don’t gamble, except for occasionally Keno when we are in Laughin every few years, but even then, it doesn’t hold much for us. Hotels were cheap there and it was not far from our home. We have many prayers for others that we have received lately. Please go to the prayer page and pray over them. Services will be posted later, as I have been busy with email and the phone. We pray that all of the mothers have a blessed day in the Lord. Don’t forget to call your mom! God bless you Mom, we love you! May 7th God expects us to follow where He leads us. I was having trouble figuring out how to get to the next campground that we thought that we would be going, but for some reason, God didn’t allow the computer to show us how to get there. Well, we are taking that as God saying not to go there so we will instead head off to another campground that we have good directions to. We spent 2 wonderful nights at the Meriwether campgrounds. For those of you who have never heard of the Nachez Trace Parkway, it runs from Nachez up to Nashville. There are 3 free campgrounds that you can stay at. They have bathrooms and water spigots throughout the campground. We will go back there later and camp up and down the Trace. We met Bobby at the Meriwether campground. Bobby taught us how to make a wonderful campfire and how to dry the wood out while the fire is burning. In Arizona, no campfires are allowed because of the wildfire danger. So we spent a delightful evening around the fire talking with Bobby. We shared our thoughts on so many things, life, our faith and the difference between faith and religions, people who we have met, and Bobby told us some of the stories that he is writing about his travels and about life. We do hope to someday meet Bobby again on the Trace and we look forward to reading his stories. We pray for Bobby, that God watches him through his travels. Henry received a card at home from a cousin that he has not seen in over 40 years. He called him and they were going over the family history and such. John found our website and commented to Henry about not having a razor! I really like Henry and his beard. He keeps part of his face shaved and I like the beard a little longer and his hair a little longer. Henry prefers a shorter beard and shorter hair. Being out on the road and in the van, doesn’t give us a lot of space for all the things we need and so we didn’t bring his trimmer. When the Lord provides us with the motor home, we will have room for those things! Until then, Henry will have longer hair and beard! The first morning we woke up at Meriwether, we heard a noise. I was able to see that it was a bird who had found our side mirrors on the van and was trying to attack the bird in the mirror. We made some noise as he was hitting the mirror really hard and we didn’t want him to get hurt or break the mirror! We had rain during the second night at our stay in Meriwether. It was so wonderful to listen to. As I said, the Lord wants us to go to some other places. We are taking advantage of the motel room, using the electricity and shower and air and the free breakfast. It was so really good to stretch out on the king size bed. It’s hard in the van, as Henry is 6’2” and now that we have changed the direction of how we sleep, we are laying on the bars of the sections of the bed in the van. When we were sleeping the other way, the bars didn’t bother us much at night but Henry could not stretch out, he had to sleep with his legs folded up. The motel gave us $5 off for the night. We thank them for that. Now it’s back to the van and camping out! We have been praying for all of you. We are going to be in southwest Missouri for several days maybe a week, depending on what God has planned. We are heading up to Lamar and then down to another free campground closer to the southwest corner of the state. We drove though the Mark Twain National Forest yesterday. It took a lot longer than we thought but that’s what happens when we don’t know the way. It was really late when we arrived in Branson and we are heading out in a little while, after I finish this and the daily way. We pray for the prayer requests each day and we know that God will show to each of you His plan for your life. It’s quite easy to get caught up in the world and all the troubles that are there. It is so much better to let the worry go and to put all things into God’s hands. We thank You God for a wonderful night sleep and look forward to all those who we will meet along the Journey. God bless all. May 5th We are in Tennessee right now on the Natchez Trace Parkway and are staying at the Merriwether Lewis campgrounds. There is a Pioneer cemetery and monument to Meriwether Lewis. We left Atlanta on Monday morning. We want to thank Emily and Joseph for their wonderful hospitality that they gave us while we stayed in Atlanta. Jamie and Kacey along with Emily and Joseph have become for us, not just names, but have become part of our family. Our time with them was blessed and we are most thankful that the Lord brought us to share our lives with fellow Christians. We are also quite blessed by their church as well. We had planned to leave earlier but the Lord wanted us to stay a bit longer. On Sunday the church prayed over us and anointed us with their blessings and the Holy Spirit to send us on the way. We also attended a Seventh Day Adventist church on Saturday. The Adventist church celebrates Saturday as the Sabbath. We didn’t catch the lady’s name who as we were filling up with gas, but she said that our sign on the back that says, “Smile, God loves you” was exactly what she needed. Isn’t God amazing how He brings us to places where a simple sign can bless a person. It takes simple things to bring the Lord’s love to people. We are going to stay at least one more night and then head off to ??? wherever the Lord leads us. God bless you. |
