"I AM the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. If you really knew Me, you would know My Father as well. From now on, you know Him and have seen Him." John 14: 6-7 |

| Sometime In My Life I Prayed and Confessed I prayed to the Lord and confessed: “O Lord, the great and awesome God, Who keeps His covenant of love with all who love Him and obey His commands, we have sinned and done wrong. We have been wicked and have rebelled; we have turned away from your commands and laws. We have not listened to Your servants the prophets, who spoke in Your Name to our kings, our princes and our fathers, and to all the people of the land. Daniel 9:4:6 It’s a hard thing to do for most people, to admit that they have sinned. Most people do not want to search deep down in themselves. It’s a scary thing to do so. But what is really scary is not searching. Why, because if you stay ignorant of your sin, it will only fester and cause you to feel unworthy, to feel guilt and to bring you to a point that life is not worth it. It’s so easy to get caught up in the world. It’s easy to ignore the sin and hope that it will go away. And what is no one saw you in that sin? The truth is that God sees you in every circumstance, in every situation that happens in your life. And you can’t claim that you don’t know that what you do is sin, and you can’t search out one Scripture to justify your sin. Have you ever rebuked someone for a sin that they are committing? It’s not an easy thing to do, and it’s not judging them either. Jesus said: “If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. If he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times comes back to you and says, ‘I repent,’ forgive him.” Understand this: We cannot assume that because someone claims that they are Christian, they know what the Word says. Many Christians have made learning God’s Word the very bread that they need for their lives, but sadly many have not. God’s Word is our daily bread. It feeds us and nourishes us so that we can come into a personal relationship with the Lord. God knows what we need, but we can be too caught up in the world, or in our pain, or in the pleasures that cause us to sin. Making time to read the Word will do more for you than walking. It will strengthen your mind and your soul and will be your foundation for your whole life. God’s Word is so amazing. Do you know that Jesus Himself knew the “old covenant?” As a Jewish boy, He diligently studied the Torah, the Prophets, and Writings. He could recite them by heart when He was twelve. Because there was no Bible as we know it, He would have learned by rote from scrolls kept by local teachers or rabbis. (1001 Surprising Things You Should Know About the Bible, Jerry MacGregor and Marie Prys) Wow, by the age of 12, Jesus knew the Scriptures by heart. Okay, so I realize that Jesus is God and after all, the Bible is the Word of God, but the point of fact is that all Jewish boys had to do the same. That is how important the Word of God is. Raymond Barber said: “If you believe these four words, ‘In the beginning God,’ you will have no problem believing all of the Bible.” (1001 Surprising Things You Should Know About the Bible, Jerry MacGregor and Marie Prys) Funny thing, most people don’t realize what they are missing. This is God’s Word, His instructions for us, and God’s amazing plan for us. You see, God has a plan for your life, and that’s all you need to know. And you will find that plan, if you put God first in your life, if you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and with all your mind and with all your strength. (Mark 12:29-31) God created us out of love. God is pure love. He gave us an amazing gift: free will. God gives us the choice to choose to come to Him or not. God will not force you to choose Him, but God will put things in your life to guide you to Him. Everything in life has a time and a purpose and a place under heaven. Each of us was born of a woman, and at some point each of us will die. “Unless a seed falls to the ground and dies, remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. The man who loves his life will lose it, while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Whoever serves Me must follow Me; and where I AM, My servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves Me.” (John 12:24-26) Jesus’ death was the planting of a new beginning for all mankind. His death for our sins brings us hope and in that hope we find that God is there, waiting for us to search for Him and to want something more than what the world has to offer. What God has to offer you is so much better than anything that this world offers. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. (1 Peter 1:3-5) A new birth, and a new beginning, something that will never perish, spoil or fade, all because Jesus died and rose again. The reason that it is necessary to build a personal relationship with God is that unless we know Him, and the way to know Him is through His Word, we will not be able to come through the fires of trials and survive. Those fires purify us of all the things that keep us from God. Faith is what is needed to be able to trust in God. That no matter what is going on around you, you trust Him in His Word that speaks volumes to us in love. His Word is not a book but a collection of books, His revelations to people through many years. God took common everyday people and taught them how to become extraordinary people, by listening to God. David was a shepherd. Ruth was a widow. Peter, Andrew, John and James were fisherman. If you let Him, God will take you as you are and help you through the changes that you need to make, His Holy Spirit will come and dwell in you. Jesus came to heal us, because we need to be healed. Think of this, we are so important to God that He came down here to earth, to teach us what we were not understanding, showing us that we can be better than we are. There is rejoicing in heaven when a sinner realizes that he must change his life and when he comes to God and says, ‘O God, help me. I’m lost, I’ve sinned and I don’t want to live life like this anymore.’ Jesus told us that we must be born-again, that means we must become like a baby, learning one thing at a time until we are complete. What a beautiful thing life is. There is nothing more beautiful than a new baby, and there is nothing more beautiful than a baby Christian. For when one humbles himself to complete dependence upon God like a new baby is dependent on their mother, so we must learn to start from the beginning. If you do not as yet have a personal relationship with God, now is the time to weep, for when we weep of our sins and let God heal us, we will be able to laugh because we have found perfect peace in God. Take one step at a time, learning from God and grow in God. You will be glad that you took the first step. Show me Your ways, O Lord, teach me Your paths; guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are God, my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. Remember, O Lord, Your great mercy and love, for they are from old. Remember not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to Your love remember me, for You are good, O Lord. Good and upright is the Lord; therefore He instructs sinners in His ways. He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them His way. Psalm 25:4-9 |
